Ashram is not a place of rest.

Ashram is not a place of rest, merrymaking, or enjoyment of the material things of life. Ashram is a place to go beyond all these, to be linked with the Supreme, to be always conscious of one’s goal. That is the reason ashrams are created.

It is not easy to create an ashram. Even if we get a big donation from someone and we purchase land and build houses, it cannot be an ashram. Ashram comes out of the sacrifice of some genuine seekers, and the aspiration of the master.
